Laser cutting and Laser etching is an interesting process. Function Complex has done a small amount for personal use but there are many materials that can be cut or etched by the laser cutting machines. Below is an example of a cupboard base which was fitted in a bathroom which matched the vinyl flooring in the room. Simply traced around a photo of the vinyl in the CAD software and sent to the laser cutting machine.The depth of the laser cutting can be controlled as to not go right through the material, in this case around 5mm.

 

There is a variety of materials now that can be laser etched and or cut.
